Mary is amazing. She’s an essential worker in many ways. We are all experiencing change, while others continue faithfully through it all.

I focused on the good news of the emerging gospel movement of thousands of young missionary volunteers. It’s still happening. An article by the National Christian Foundation reports, “Millions of worried people who have turned to Google with their anxiety over COVID-19 have ended up connecting with Christian evangelists in their search results – leading to a spike in online conversions in March.”

No, not the Coronavirus. It’s an outbreak of missionary vision and passion. The Call was two decades of gatherings in stadiums with a message of prayer and fasting to turn back to Jesus. Then the Lord spoke of the birth of a new sending movement. In 2016, 70,000 people gathered for The Send in LA Coliseum, where they raised their shoes in response to a call to go anywhere for the gospel. Last month 140,000 gathered in Brazil. We love being with Kelly’s family, her husband Dean, and their two kids, Lucy and Liam. There were about 25 people, including children. Kelly’s sister, Nikki, with her husband and two kids, asked us to share our favorite Thanksgiving memory. It wasn’t long before tears started flowing, and joy started rising. Such a sweet and memorable time. We’re so grateful. God has blessed us and made Himself known through family.

‘Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be TRANSformedby the renewing of your mind. THEN you will be able to test & approve what God’s will is ~ His good & perfect will.’ Rom 12:2

John has taught from this passage from Paul’s letter to the Roman church for many years and it’s come alive to me during the last year. I taped Rom. 12:2 above my computer on the wall as a constant reminder.

We peeked around the back of the van to find Mateo, the 2-year-old boy living in a small rusty trailer with his mom, Isela, and his 6-year-old sister, Brianna, since the day he was born.

John just received testimony from Coral Bello, a YWAMer who co-led the University Discipleship Training School, which graduates tomorrow in Venezuela. (John taught that course online in August and at the School of University Ministries & Missions in Ecuador, where Coral was trained last year.)

Nearly every month for the past 33 years, we sit down to write to you, our family and friends. Some of you have been with us from the beginning, even before we were married in 1988. This year we are celebrating 30 happy years of marriage. We’ll be at YWAM Ensenada, Mexico on November 12, our 30th anniversary, where we will build a house with the Homes of Hope ministry for a needy family along with a group of 20 people from Coastal Christian Church in Ocean City, NJ. You can contribute to our airfare and fees, which go to building costs. But that’s not all we celebrate.

But on Friday morning they had to rush home because their 15-year-old daughter got very sick and had to go to the hospital. The bacteria entered her bloodstream and the doctors did all they could to save her. But she passed early Saturday morning. To say the least our family is shocked. We are grieving right alongside our friends.
